Mito-TRFS (10 μM) has the maximal absorption at ~375 nm in TE buffer (50 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA, pH 7.4) at 37 °C[1]. Mito-TRFS itself has a strong emission at ~480 nm when excited at 375 nm in TE buffer (φ=0.34), but has weak emission when excited at 438 nm[1].

Fast-TRFS is a selective and superfast fluorogenic probe of thioredoxin reductase (TrxR). Fast-TRFS can be used for imaging TrxR activity in live cells[1].

Fast-TRFS reaches the maximal fluorescence signal within 1 min incubated with TCEP, and within 5 min incubated with the TrxR enzyme[1]. Fast-TRFS (10 μM; 2-60 min) appears the blue fluorescence signal within 2 min in HeLa cells[1].
