使用方法：对于很多法医学的样本（血卡、油漆剥落片、纸张、树叶、胶体）来说，一般先固定材料到到打孔器垫子上，取掉打孔器的保护盖子，捏紧打孔器，打孔器的头部以一定的角度定位于目标区域（切记不要压打孔器内的柱塞），推打孔器的头部进入目标材料内直至碰到垫子。拿起打孔器，取到的芯材存在与打孔器的头部。对于很多生物学样本，例如组织块取样后首先切片至1-2mm厚的切片，切片取样后置于硅烷浸泡的滤纸片上（一般在冰浴解剖台上），zui后才能用打孔器按照使用其使用方法进行进一步的工作。

样品的保存与弹出：Harris MicroPunch™打孔器可以平放工作台上，里面的芯材并不会丢失。当打孔器头部存有的芯材需要弹射出来，只需定向目标地，手指压柱塞，芯材即可弹出。

打孔器清洗：取完每个样品都需要清洗打孔器头，避免交叉污染。浸泡打孔器头在酒精中，或者用压缩空气吹掉干屑，一定记得每次同时浸泡打孔器垫于酒精中。
